Biggins' Big Adventure

So I was going to blog this week about Lynchburg coming in at #28 on the Forbes annual list of "Best Places for Business and Careers." Our fair city jumped from #70 to #28 in just one year -- it's really nice to live where things are looking up and progressing all the time. We're proud of the 'Burg and happy to play a small part in it's bright future!

But enough about that....how about this little image?

That would be poor Tommy's ankle yesterday afternoon, being diligently attended to by members of the Lynchburg College EMS (who are VERY serious about their job). He fell playing basketball during lunch yesterday, heard a loud "pop," and immediately starting swelling. I came from work and we spent several hours in the Urgent Care getting x-rays, etc.

Good news: It's not broken! Bad news: He tore two ligaments and is now hopped up on pain meds and hobbling around on crutches. Oh, and the doc told him that he had the ankles of a 65-year-old woman (although much less shapely, I might add). So Biggins has to stay off the ol' basketball court for a few weeks -- and completely off that foot for a few days. Of course, the entire time we were waiting to see the Doc he was lamenting that his team had lost the first two games, but won the third and were about to tie it up. He's slightly obsessed.

Here's the ankle this morning, being watched by "Nurse Scout."  It's the size of a melon.
