Spring in DC

We had a wonderful weekend in our Nation's Capital! The cherry blossoms are just starting to pop out and it was beautiful. Had dinner and fabulous beers on Friday night at Rustico with Rob & Kelly (and incidentally, Todd and Rhonda). Saturday morning we re-visited Linda's Cafe, one of our old diner haunts on Lee Highway. We used to go there so often that when we walked in on Saturday morning, the waitress (still there) came over and gave us a big hug! Too funny. Saturday afternoon, we gussied up and headed into the city for appetizers and drinks at Farmers and Fishers on the Georgetown Waterfront. It's owned by the North Dakota Farmers Union (random) and they specialize in fresh, farm to table. (My blackberry julep was amazing). The Kennedy Center was stunning in the sunset before the show.

Lunch with TGB and JoAnn on Sunday and headed home in our new ride. Still deciding what her name will be. I like just plain "Red" while Tommy prefers "Scarlett." Thoughts or suggestions?

  1. Yeah, three reasons why we should call her Scarlett:

    1. Red isn't a name, it's a color (cars must have names, just like boats)
    2. ScoJo, enough said.
    2. Scarlett from G.I. JOE...just like our new ride, she was tough but beautiful...and I think she drove a Jeep too.
